Questions
- Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
- No. The tool reads your photo with your browser's own file APIs, draws it on a canvas on your device and saves the result straight back to it. Nothing is sent to our server or anyone else's. You can load the page, switch off your connection and it still works.
- Which size should I use for a normal post?
- For a single photo, X shows images in full when their aspect ratio sits between 2:1 (wide) and 3:4 (tall). 16:9 at 1200 x 675 is the safe default for landscape shots, 1:1 suits square crops, and 4:5 gives you the most height on phones while still showing in full.
- Why is the header preset 1500 x 500?
- That's the header size X recommends. The banner is shown at different heights on different screens, and your profile photo covers part of the lower left on most layouts, so the tool shades the edges and the profile area to show where details might be hidden.
- How long can alt text be on X?
- X allows up to 1,000 characters for an image description. Most good descriptions are far shorter: one to three sentences that say what matters in the picture.
- What's the file size limit for photos on X?
- X accepts photos up to 5 MB in JPEG, PNG or GIF format, and profile photos up to 2 MB. The tool estimates your export size as you move the quality slider and warns you if you're over.
